Diwali from Chennai

So much of plan and anticipation on this day is finally completed.  After a long flight journey and continuous jet lag, we went on shopping spree for purchasing diwali clothes.

The weather in Chennai was awesome, much to my surprise, until yesterday.  It was so cool and for sometime I felt like being in Ooty. But today, it was back to normal!

Hope you all had a fabulous Diwali!  Will write back soon...

Golu update!

With Navarathri season, things are pretty busy around me.  A few of them asked from the previous post about parcel and it's condition.

Ten on Tuesday - 6

I am bored of speaking about my hibernation every now and then.  Simply thought of catching up with small things that are exciting me these days!

Navarathri and fun!

I've spoken about Navarathri and its preparations nearly every year (click here for 2008 and here for 2007).  Will that not be unfair if I ignore it this year??

Christmas time

Christmas season to me means having homemade plum cakes, christmas carols in the city, counting the number of christmas stars in my neighbourhood  and most importantly playing chris mom-chris child.

Karthigai Deepam 2009

Karthigai Deepam - The festival of lights is one among my list of favourite festivals.  Just as Diwali celebrated in North India, Karthigai Deepam is celebrated in Tamilnadu with lots of diyas(lights).

Navarathri 2008

This year's Navarathri or Golu (to give a tamizh accent) is a first of its kind, unusual, special and it’s different for me for all reasons (good only). Coz I am celebrating it without my parents & with a new family member S (well…not really new!! it’s actually 6 months old). I am always animated about Navarathri, as it’s a grand event to work hard, to rejoice, to eat good hot sundals, to get-together with friends, relatives’ et al.

Navarathri - a festival to celebrate

Its Navarathri time (Nine nights in sanskrit). For those who don’t know about this festival, Navarathri Golu is a traditional display of dolls in steps. Special puja is performed for nine nights, and we invite our friends, relatives to house on this occasion. Coming back.....My mom and I started our preparations for Golu a month before the actual festival and the most imperative, indeed the first step in the entire process is....of course HOUSE CLEANING activity.
