~ Turkish Delight ~ Part 2

We liked flying in Turkish Airlines for so many reasons - it is low cost, comfortable, great food, and they provide 40 kgs pp baggage allowance which no other flights offer.

First day wasn't too effective as we reached Atatürk International Airport at 5.00 PM.  Collected our baggages and while we were about to leave the airport, a staff approached us and asked if we are looking for private shuttles. He lead us to private tour operators who also take shuttle services at low cost from airport to hotels. Since our hotel is located in the central area, they asked us to wait at the lounge. They charged 20 Euros per person, and we were the only people inside that shuttle!

By the time we reached Modern Sultan Hotel, time was around 6.00 PM. 2 cheerful ladies - Jeannie and Rhonda made a warm welcome to us, and helped us get comfortable with our room. This mid budget hotel is located in Sultanahmet area keeping most of the tourist attractions just few metres away.  The interiors of the hotel as well as our room were elegant and royal. Turkish carpets, linens, wall drapes, couch, paintings, everything looked typical turkish.  This is the beautiful view of my room at the hotel.

It was 7PM when we stepped out of our hotel. We just walked towards Blue mosque and Hagia Sofia which were just few minutes walk from our hotel, took some night shots. Then went to Barbeque House for our dinner. It served us with plenty of vegetables, flat naan, and some drinks. Day 1 came to an end..

Oops, missed the night shot of Hagia Sofia..  Here you go...
