Ten on Tuesday - 3

To be very honest, I've never made any wish-list, because they were mostly 1 wish at one time.  However, I decided to list my wishes so that "THAT" person can have a peep at this, and fulfil them :)

Now, I'm not demanding.  Some of these lists I wish I have them at any given point in time.  But some, I need them anytime now!

1. Nikon D90:
I've been talking about this for a while now.  I admire its appearance, performance, elegance, features, and...anything about this.  It's been more than 2 years since I started looking for this toy. I go to the inter-discount atleast once in 15-20 days, look at the model, zoom it in and out, see its lens, see its price, ask the sales rep a few questions about its performance, and would return back without buying them.  If you have seen a tamil movie "Padikadhavan", there is a similar such scene you can relate to this!

Then at one point, I consoled myself saying let me first explore my small toy cybershot, learn its nuances, and exploit it to the core, and then go for a SLR.  Now I think its high time, I get D90. I deserve this!

2. A laptop - whether high performing or low performing.  But I want one for myself.  The competition gets tougher day by day on who to use it and at what time to use it!

3. A D&G watch: A dream that any wristwatch-maniac like me could have.  And having lived in the country that's world famous for its watch industry, I couldn't ask for more. I do have enviable collection of wrist watches, but still I pester the investor to get me a D&G!

4.A 10 day vacation to escape this cold, with great beaches, sunshine, and cruises.

5. A comfortable overcoat.  I'm bored with using this raw jute kind of overcoat for about 2 years now.  It's neither getting worn-out, torn, nor getting dirty.  It's in the same nice shape of how it was 2 years back.  I cannot deny the fact, that the present one is so comfortable, made me withstand any high degree of cold.  But still I think I'm done with this, and I want something red / purple/ cream colored.

6. A good preeti mixie. I was such a generous girl to give away my old preeti mixie.  I got a new kenwood which is doing no justice to Indian food making process.  I desperately want a good one to prepare our ubiquitous thogaiyals, and dosa batters.

7. My fascination towards finger rings have never ceased to exist. Even if I have 10 for each finger, I would get another! I don't crave on gold jewels, but silver and if I am lucky, its platinum. Off late, I hardly wear any.  So, I would like to get a white gold/platinum plain design with 'our' initials carved out on it!

8.Get a pampering session at Ayurvedic massage centre, to get rejuvenated and relaxed!

9. Recently, I've got attracted towards knitting.  I don't know which knit bug bit me, but I wanted to learn knitting.  All I need is knitting kit with a introductory book!

10. Honestly speaking, I don't have anything in this 10th position.  But, to complete the post, I'm adding a silver anklet.

Now my question to you is - Do you think these are too much for me to ask?

TGIF...Oooolaaalaaaa

Monday come, people say monday morning blues.  Why blue? Why not monday morning green or red?  Blue is such a pleasant & lovely color (and my all time fav one too). 90% of our nature has blue shades, and I still wonder who coined the term Monday Morning blues?

If any of you know the history of this, do enlighten me! I want to go and hit that person who invented the term.

But yes...to accept, Mondays are like "Oh my god, its monday again".  It's always a dull day, unwillingness towards getting up from bed, not wanting to do our regular work, and our mind still gelled with weekend mood.

Come Tuesday, we try to get more orderly, start to accept the week, and start working..

Midweek is also fun.  "3 done, 2 more to go" is the feeling.

On Thursday, the weekend talks begin, and plans are made.  Already on "Thank god its Thursday"

And Friday morning blues (that's how I'm going to say), the most refreshing, most productive and happy hours, so enthusiastic and energetic. We always want to finish work on time, and come back home quickly.  And its only when you step into home and sit on your couch to relax, you feel, "Thank God its Friday"...Ooooolaalaaaaaaa

Awful blog break!

It’s a nightmare to sit in front of computer, wanting to write and not being able to write!

"To write about writer's block, you should experience it" I heard someone saying.

To me, a writer’s block is a syndrome of wanting / urging to write, but getting struck when it comes to articulate your mind and put them in form of words.

I logged into my blog almost every other day, read others' blog, left comments, opened a new post, stared at it (literally! yes), and closed it without writing anything. regrettably, this has been my modus operandi for last 2-3 weeks.

Searching for words was like searching air in a vacuum or looking for a particular drop of water in the ocean...any such comparisons!  I felt completely blank as to what to write, how to write.  F***ing block!

Normal scenarios and reasons for someone's writing block could be:-

1. Laziness to write
2. No clue of what to write
3. Afraid of writing bad
4. Fear of criticisms
5. Lack of concentration
6. Stress
7. Change in priority

I thought the last 3 points were more suited for my "not-able-to-write-syndrome"

All those who have been hit with this tornado will fight and come back. How and when is the question?  And every time one finds a way out of this maze, there is a new strategy that gets evolved.

I tried to concentrate, thought about a beautiful landscape, listened to my favourite song, spoke with the one's I loved, but still I could not come out.  And I did not want to prolong further.  Hence I thought of writing about writing and writer's block. And as I started to write, words started flowing like a river.  Ah! I feel glad now!

And now, I believe that every writer will go through this phase, and should go through.  It's like taking a vacation from your busy schedule or enjoying a short nap after completing mundane tasks. It's so refreshing – physically and mentally!

Ten on Tuesday - 2

Having born, brought up and educated in Chennai is more than enough a reason for me to miss this vibrant city!  First time I realised this when I moved to Bangalore for work. Almost after 30 days of being in BLR, my first visit to chennai was kind of moment I had been longing for!  The moment I got down from Rajahamsa bus at CMBT Bus station, I touched the sand and smelt it! Believe me, I did that! That's when I realized that I missed Chennai so much!  I am going to write about top 10 things that I adore, which has made me home sick about this city!

1. Goes without saying, I miss my parents. Miss all the celebrations and fun we 3, now we 4 used to have!!

2. F.R.I.E.N.D.S:  Almost 90% of my friends live in Chennai. Saturdays and sundays have never been a boring affair! Always had someone coming to my house, or me going to their house, or just roaming around the city.

3.  Anna nagar: This is a residential area in chennai. Has been my home for almost a quarter century.  The familiar roads, trees, shops and shopwala's and Anna's.  I've always felt safe and secured even when I walk at 12 in the night!

4. Temples: Being in a same area for 25 years means a lot of attachment! Right? I have grown up visiting a small Ganesha temple just few yards away from my house.  That Ganesh alone knows how much I miss visiting him @ my favourite temple! I also visit Saibaba mandir, a beautiful place to meditate and Iyappan temple at Anna nagar, ofcourse with friends.

5. My scooty and the drives: Roaming around in your bike with friends has a different taste of enjoyment altogether! Riding on doubles, triples, and getting caught with the police uncle, trying to escape from him without paying any money..So many fond memories are attached to this!

6. Scorching sun! I was always fond of this. Considering my biological and physiological set up of my body, I was able to withstand any high degree of temperate climate, but could not manage a minuscule drop in them! I still wonder how I survived 2 years in Bangalore. I do get irrirated when it gets sultry or get sweat, but despite that, I apply loads of sunscreen lotion and roam in the scorching sun.  If there is a person who loves to visit a beach at 12 noon, it could be just me!

 7. How can I not miss beach.  Being a proud chennaiite to have the world's 2nd longest coastline means a lot! Post marriage gave me ample opportunities to go to beach due to its proximity.  It takes not more than 5 minutes to reach the beach from my in-laws place.  I enjoyed the 12 O' clock walks in the beach with S. For this very reason, I always wanted to go back to chennai!

8. Home food and restaurants: healthy tasty food has never been a problem in Chennai. Be it home made food or outside, we have varieties. From continental to mexican to thai to chinese to lebenese, to italian..Is there anything we don't get?? How much I bing on road side pani puri shops and beach sundal and bajjis!!

9. Crazy shopping: I shop like as if today is my last day! Some of my favourite shopping destinations have been Spencer, gazing around pondy bazaar and Ranganathan street. I envy when my friends say that they had a great time at the new malls!!

10. Pampering, pampering and more pampering:- My morning breakfast were always fed by my mom.  Until marriage, my breakfast has been the hot rice, ghee and dhaal mixed together, and it's a bliss to have them hot directly from mom's hands.
